I was thinking about how I would style some of tonight’s oscar nominees if I had the chance. This would be a dream come true, so after looking through the most recent runways, these are what I would choose for some of hollywood’s leading ladies.
Jessica Chastain - Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for The Help

I think this dress from Armani Prive’ Spring 2012 Couture would be absolutely stunning on Jessica. The color would be gorgeous against her pale skin and red hair, and the delicate paillettes would glitter and shimmer in all the lights like liquid. I would style it with a classic, loose updo to show off the neckline and to provide a soft contrast to the modern lines of the dress. I also would do her makeup with a smokier eye to complement the edge of the dress.
I also think wearing an Armani could provide her with good luck this evening, since she was seated in the front row at the Armani show when the Oscar nominations were announced. I think I would take that as a sign :)
Rooney Mara - Nominated for Best Actress for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

I realize that this is a bit on the racy/edgy side, but that is exactly why I love it for her. From Versace Spring 2012 Couture, I think this could be just great on Rooney. I may not want this color on her, however I think that she could totally pull it off. I think the mix of the delicate lace at the top, with the strong curve and futuristic shape at the hip is fantastic. Someone young and fresh with such a strong look like her’s would be perfect in something like this.
I also think that someone like Michelle Williams could also rock this look. (Although I know that would be a HUGE departure for her). Speaking of Michelle Williams…
Michelle Williams - Nominated for Best Actress for My Week With Marilyn

Michelle typically does very demure and very vintage inspired. I would personally love to see her in something with a bit more edge. This beautiful black dress from Giambattista Valli Spring 2012 would be perfect. Still not to over the top for Michelle, but just enough with the sheer panels in the skirt and the modest neckline. We rarely see her in black, and I think it would be a beautiful contrast to her blonde pixie cut.
Obviously these are just my dream picks if I had the opportunity to style these lovely ladies, but we will see what everyone shows up wearing in just a few short hours. Stay tuned in the next few days for my complete review of all the fashion from tonight’s academy awards.
